Kantar's Shopping for Gifts Deep Dive Study

We asked 2,000 shoppers who have purchased gifts in the past three months to share their shopping, category, and retailer preferences. Here's some of what we found:

Millennials like to browse the store

52% of Millennials shared they prefer to find gift inspiration in-store over anywhere else. But only 32% of Gen X and Gen Z will visit the brick and mortar and an even lower 15% of Boomers.

Gift types vary for holidays and occasions

The most popular gifts purchased for Mother's Day include Edible gifting set, Confectionary, and Arts and Crafts. While Father's Day shares Confectionary, Accessories and Experiences are also among the top gifts for the occasion.
